    What's Wrong With Madonna's Marriage?

    Amongst speculations that she has hired an attorney and has interest in rap star Lil’ Wayne, Madonna is halting rumors that her marriage may be ending.  On Monday, the pop star's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg stated that she is "delighted to confirm that Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ritchie remain happily married." Rosenberg explained the that the couple were living in separate countries: The Mrs. toured the U.S. to promote her upcoming album "Hard Candy," while Mr. Ritchie was directing in England putting the finishing touches on his new film "RocknRolla," filming a Nike commercial, and various other projects. Don't fret, everything's alright!

    Madonna and Guy Divorce?

    Things don't seem to be looking too good in the Madonna and Guy Ritchie marriage. There have been rumors going on for some time now that the two are on the rocks but those rumors seem to be at an all time high these past few weeks.

    Last night, Madonna went to Manhattan's Kabbalah Centre for Sabbath services with her three kids and Carlos Leon who is Lourdes' biological father. There was no Guy Ritchie in site. Guy was reportedly going to join the family in NY this weekend but Madge was spotted out and about this afternoon without him in site.

    Madonna is in NYC rehearsing for her upcoming tour. It must be so hard to rehearse for a tour while her marriage is allegedly falling apart. Guess that's how it is in a life of a workaholic.

    Another Strike in Hollywood

    Just four months after a 100-day writers' strike ground Hollywood to a halt and cost the state of California more than $2 billion and 27,000 jobs, the movie business is once again facing the possibility of a strike - this time by actors. The anticipation of labor unrest in July has kept movie studios from starting production on any big films since April, while TV productions are working double-time to get as many episodes of their fall shows in the can as possible.

    The issues (new-media and DVD residuals) are the same ones the writers fought over. But the actors are in the unique position of being represented by two unions that can't stand each other. Those unions - the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the smaller American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) - are negotiating their contracts with the Alliance of Motion and Picture Television Producers (AMPTP) separately for the first time in 27 years. AFTRA has reached an agreement that closely mirrors the one writers and directors approved earlier this year; its 70,000 members must vote to approve it by July 8. But SAG, taking a harder line, is still in negotiations with studios and appears to be far from reaching a deal for its 120,000 members by the time their contract expires June 30.
